Factory operator perishes in accident at Jalan Datuk Mohd Musa intersection

KOTA SAMARAHAN, April 25: A factory operator lost his life yesterday (April 24) afternoon after his motorcycle was hit by a car at the Kilometre 16 traffic light on Jalan Datuk Mohd Musa.

According to TV Sarawak (TVS), the 43-year-old victim from Batu 21 Jalan Penrissen succumbed to his injuries and passed away at the scene of the incident while the 27-year-old driver, who is a university student, did not sustain any injuries.


The Kota Samarahan District Police Headquarters (IPD) received a report regarding the incident at 5.30pm, said the Kota Samarahan District Police Chief DSP Jaimi Husin.

Jaimi said that the accident was believed to have taken place when the motorcyclist was travelling from Kota Samarahan, heading to 7th Mile.

“He (the motorcyclist) was hit by a car that was moving along the straight road from 8th Mile to Kota Samarahan.

“According to the driver of the car, the traffic light was green. After the collision, the motorcyclist fell on the road,” said Jaimi in a statement yesterday.

The motorcycle was damaged on the front left side whereas the car was damaged on the front right side.

The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987. —DayakDaily
