KUCHING, July 30: The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has issued a thunderstorm warning for several areas in Sarawak that is expected to last until tonight.
Anticipated weather conditions include thunderstorms, heavy rain, and strong winds affecting Kuching (Kuching), Serian, Samarahan, Sri Aman (Sri Aman), Betong, Sarikei (Pakan and Julau), and Miri (Subis).
The warning, which was issued at 3.25pm today, will remain in effect until 6pm.
“A warning is issued when there are signs of a thunderstorm with a rain intensity greater than 20 mm/hour that is approaching or expected to last for more than an hour. A thunderstorm warning is a short-term warning that is valid for a maximum of six hours per release,” it highlighted. — DayakDaily
