KUCHING, June 21: The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has issued a thunderstorm warning for several locations in Sarawak from this afternoon through the night.
Anticipated weather conditions include thunderstorms, heavy rain, and strong winds affecting Kuching (Bau and Kuching), Serian, Samarahan (Samarahan and Asajaya), Sibu (Sibu and Selangau), and Bintulu. The warning, which was issued at 3.10pm today, will remain in effect until 6pm.
“A warning is issued when there are signs of a thunderstorm with a rain intensity greater than 20 mm/hour that is approaching or expected to last for more than an hour. A thunderstorm warning is a short-term warning that is valid for a maximum of six hours per release,” it highlighted. — DayakDaily
