KUCHING, Feb 15: A delegation from the European Union (EU) conducted a visit to the microalgae production facility at the Sarawak Biodiversity Centre (SBD) today.
According to a news report from the Sarawak Public Communication Unit (Ukas), the delegation, led by His Excellency Michalis Rokas, gained an understanding of the growing and processing methods used for algae production and its various applications.
The entourage’s tour commenced with a visit to the Laila Taib Ethnobotanic Garden, where they were introduced to plants from each ethnic group in Sarawak.
Following this, the delegation continued their visit to the research and data storage center for plants with potential applications in various products such as medicines and perfumes.
Members of the delegation also seized the opportunity to gather more information by asking questions in addition to being briefed by officers.
According to the schedule, the delegation will proceed with their visit to University Malaysia Sarawak (Unimas). — DayakDaily
