KUCHING, June 16: Former Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Datuk Joseph Entulu Belaun left reporters mystified when he uttered a cryptic “the big day will come” response as he was about to leave the Chief Minister’s Hari Raya Aidilfitri open house this afternoon.
It’s anybody’s guess what he meant by ‘big day’ as he declined to elaborate when prodded.
The newsmen had asked him about his next political move, now that the state’s four ruling parties had left the Barisan Nasional (BN) to form local alliance Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS).
Entulu arrived at the Chief Minister’s Hari Raya open house at Borneo Convention Centre Kuching (BCCK) at around 2pm, which was shortly after Yang di-Pertua Negeri Tun Pehin Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud left.
Taib had gone to BCCK with his wife, Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Raghad Kurdi Taib, their family members, including extended family members, at about 12.30pm.
Accompanying Entulu were former Senadin Parti Rakyat Sarawak (PRS) branch chief Richard Will Uban and former PRS supreme council member Edward Kurek.
Entulu, who joined Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg at the high table for about 15 minutes, was sacked from PRS on April 22 this year for refusing to abide by the PRS selection committee’s decision not to renominate him to contest in Selangau during the May 9 general election (GE14).
Kurek was sacked on the same day for allegedly supporting Entulu, while Richard and some 1,000 PRS Senadin members quit the party on May 15 after the branch’s special committee meeting chaired by Richard.
In a statement, Richard said they resigned because they had lost confidence in the leadership of party president Tan Sri Dr James Jemut Masing, who is also deputy chief minister.
On May 12, a viral post on social media claimed Entulu, Julau MP Larry Sng and Lubok Antu MP Jugah Muyang had joined Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR). — DayakDaily
