KUCHING, Dec 6: Former N.59 Tamin assemblyman Datuk Joseph Entulu Belaun is making a comeback to challenge its incumbent Christopher Gira Sambang in the coming polls.
It will be a straight fight between the two with Gira representing Gabungan Parti Sarawak-Parti Rakyat Sarawak (GPS-PRS) while Entulu will be contesting under the Parti Sarawak Bersatu (PSB) flag.
In the last State election in 2016, Gira won with a majority of 2,085 votes against Simon Joseph of Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) and Independent Dr Ali Puji.
Entulu, who was Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department, won Tamin in 1991 representing PRS and defended the seat until 2006.
In the 2006 election, Joseph Mauh Ikeh of Barisan Nasional (BN) won the constituency and defended it in 2011 before he called it a day and fielded a new candidate for the 2016 State election. ā DayakDaily
