KUCHING, Dec 6: N36 Layar will see a straight fight between Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) and Parti Sarawak Bersatu (PSB) candidates in the 12th Sarawak Election.
Layar incumbent Datuk Gerald Rentap Jabu will be defending his seat against Isik Utau, who is a former political secretary to the Chief Minister.
Rentap, when contacted by DayakDaily today said that he would leave the decision to the people to decide who to vote for.
Rentap has served as a representative for Layar constituency for one-term after winning in the 2016 Sarawak Election as a Barisan Nasional (BN) candidate, and won with 3,931 votes against Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) candidate Vernon Albert Kedit, who managed to gain 2,503 votes. — DayakDaily
