KUCHING, March 4: The proposal to relocate Sekolah Tan Sri Datuk Temenggong Jugah to SMK Katibas in Song is currently under discussion, said Federal Works Minister and Kapit MP Datuk Seri Alexander Nanta Linggi.
In a Facebook post earlier today, Nanta acknowledged the unique challenges faced by rural students compared to their urban counterparts and emphasised the importance of infrastructure and educational facilities in supporting their aspirations.
“As a Member of Parliament representing a rural constituency, this has been a long-standing cause that I have championed.
“The same struggle is also carried by other assemblymen under the Kapit parliamentary constituency,” he stated.
He further expressed gratitude to Education Minister Fadhlina Sidek for her attentiveness in meeting him, Katibas assemblyman Lidam Assan, and the Song District Education Office team to discuss the proposed relocation.
“Although it is still at the discussion stage, we deeply appreciate YB Fadhlina’s commitment to helping the students of this school,” he added.
Nanta reaffirmed his dedication to enhancing education in Kapit and Song by ensuring better infrastructure and improved accessibility.
He also extended his appreciation to all parties involved in the initiative. — DayakDaily
