KUCHING, Aug 18: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim is set to launch the MYJalan Campaign, an initiative to foster awareness on shared responsibility for our roads and to address pressing issues like road damage and potholes on Aug 24 at Tasik Awam Banding Jetty in Perak.
Works Minister Dato Sri Alexander Nanta Linggi emphasised that the MYJalan Campaign is initiated to instill stronger sense of accountability among Malaysian road users.
This innovative endeavour will involve various stakeholders, including industry players, government bodies and the private sector.
“The campaign also serves as an advocacy platform to educate road users about road maintenance. These ongoing efforts are necessary to curtail road damage ensuring that the quality of road services never dips to levels inconveniencing the users,” he pointed out.
With the campaign’s vision rooted in ‘Actions Speak Louder Than Words’, Nanta explained that past campaigns such as FTRoadpedia, Kita Jaga Jalan Kita and Zero Potholes will be activated and enhanced into this inclusive campaign to ensure more interactive and integrated actions can be achieved.
Moreover, the MYJalan Campaign champions an expanded ‘No Wrong Door Policy’ in line with the launch of the MyJalan app, a digital tool to elevate the efficacy of the existing complaint system.
“While the Federal government’s jurisdiction pertains to federal roads, grievances submitted via the MyJalan app will receive due attention and will be relayed to relevant parties empowered to take action,” he added.
Addressing a longstanding concern, Nanta said one of the focal points of the MYJalan campaign is to address the vexing issue of deteriorated and potholed roads. — DayakDaily
