EMCO in Kampung Sungai Ud, Kampung Sungai Ud Hilir in Dalat until Feb 9

KUCHING, Jan 29: Enhanced Movement Control Order (EMCO) has been enforced in Kampung Sungai Ud and Kampung Sungai Ud Hilir in Dalat District, Mukah until Feb 9.

State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) chairman Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas announced that this decision was made considering the increase of positive Covid-19 cases in Dalat.


“SDMC has decided to implement EMCO for Kampung Sungai Ud and Kampung Sungai Ud Hilir in Dalat District, Mukah effective from Jan 27 of 12.01am until Feb 9 of 11.59pm,” he updated in a statement issued today.

The EMCO at the two identified villages has in fact started on Jan 27 but the order was gazetted today.

Dalat is currently a high-risk red zone area with a total of 89 local cases recorded in the past 14 days. The cumulative Covid-19 cases in the district stands at 113.

Meanwhile, Sarawak recorded one Covid-19 fatality in Sibu and 179 new cases today.

With another day recording triple digit cases, this pushed the state tally of positive cases to 4,124.

Of the 179 new Covid-19 cases, Sibu continued to record the highest number of cases at 65 followed by Song (54), Miri (12), Kapit (11), Lundu (7), Selangau (7), Bau (6), Bintulu (5), Sebauh (3), two each in Meradong and Kanowit, and one each in Kuching, Pakan, Samarahan, Sarikei and Serian. — DayakDaily
