EMCO in Kampung Seratau extended to Aug 13 after spike in Covid-19 cases

KUCHING, July 30: The Enhanced Movement Control Order (EMCO) at Kampung Seratau near here will be extended until Aug 13 due to the rising number of Covid-19 cases.

Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) in a statement today said the EMCO at the village which began on July 17 were initially slated to end today (July 30).


However, the EMCO has been extended to another two weeks after a cumulative 68 Delta variant cases have been detected in the village as of midnight July 28.

At the same time, SDMC announced EMCO in four new areas namely, workers’ quarters at KL Engineering Sdn Bhd in Bintulu from July 29 to Aug 11; workers’ quarters at Parasmak Plywood Sdn Bhd in Bintulu (July 29 to Aug 11); Rh Gilbert Melina, Kampung Rawan Ili, Tanjung Bijat in Sri Aman (July 30 to Aug 12); and Rh Pitre Ambit Tinting Mawang, Jalan Petai in Sarikei (July 30 to Aug 16).

The Committee also announced the end of EMCO at five areas today.

They are workers’ quarters at Ponyplastic in Bintulu which ended on July 29; workers’ quarters at Ladang Karisma in Bintulu (July 30); Rh Allin, Sungai Seleku in Sarikei (July 30); Kampung Astana Lot and Kampung Sungai Bedil Besar in Kuching (July 30); while Rh Sap, Sg Tulai, Bintangor in Meradong will end its EMCO tomorrow (July 31). — DayakDaily
