BETONG, Nov 11: A 77-year-old woman from Rh Sibat, Kampung Penurin was reported missing by her family members after she failed to return home from the farm yesterday.
According to the missing person report which was lodged this afternoon, Andun Jabu left the longhouse on her own to their family farm located some 500 meters away in the Batu Api area.
She did not return home until today.
After several failed searches by her family and villagers, her son lodged a report at Betong police district.
Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) in a statement said an alert was sent to Betong station at 2.56pm.
Search and rescue (SAR) operation led by Betong fire chief PPgB Vincent Yabi was immediately carried out together with the police, civil defence and villagers around the farmhouse where Andun was believed to be missing.
As at 5.40pm, they failed to locate her.
