Elderly man suffers burns from early morning house fire at Taman Medan Ginseng, Bintulu

KUCHING, April 20: A 65-year-old man sustained burn injuries to his back after a fire broke out at a residence in Taman Medan Ginseng, early this morning.

According to a report by TVS, the victim received immediate first aid from emergency medical personnel before being rushed to Hospital Nyabau for further treatment.

Three other tenants of the house managed to escape safely.

In a statement, a spokesperson from the Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) said the blaze involved a semi-permanent structure connected to a two-storey permanent terrace house. The additional structure was completely destroyed.

The department received the emergency call at 3.49am, and a team from the Bintulu Fire and Rescue Station was immediately dispatched to the scene.

Firefighting efforts were successfully concluded by 4.30am. – DayakDaily
