KUCHING, April 20: The annual Kuching Festival Food Fair will return from July 25 to August 17 this year, announced Kuching South City Council (MBKS) mayor Dato Wee Hong Seng.
Speaking during his weekly ‘Shall Wee Talk’ Facebook live session yesterday (April 19), Wee said MBKS has already formed a festival organising committee, with working groups scheduled to begin preparations later this month.
He highlighted that the 2025 edition of the Kuching Festival will be a major event under the new MBKS council term from 2025 to 2028, marking it as one of the first and most important programmes to be rolled out.
“We’ve set the dates. This year’s Kuching Festival will run from July 25 to August 17. It’s one of our city’s key annual events, and I want to thank everyone for their continued support,” he said.
Wee added that the working groups will soon present proposed programmes during the upcoming MBKS council meeting, with further details on festival activities to be revealed after that.
He also urged the public to continue supporting the festival and participate in the month-long celebration of culture, arts, food, and community spirit. — DayakDaily
