KUCHING, Sept 11: An elderly man was killed in a road accident involving a motorcycle and a cement truck along Jalan Tun Jugah near Gala City yesterday.
According to TVS, Kuching District Police Chief ACP Alexson Naga Chabu said the accident occurred around 11 am when the victim’s Honda motorcycle collided with a cement truck in the middle lane.
Alexson said as a result of the collision, the motorcycle went out of control and the rider fell before being run over by the truck. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene at 11:07 amby medical personnel from Sarawak General Hospital.
The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 for reckless or dangerous driving causing death.
