SIBU, Aug 25:  An elderly man was found dead hanging side by side with his dog in the living room of a house at Jalan Langsat here this morning.

The deceased was suspected of taking the life of his dog first before hanging himself.

According to Sibu police chief ACP Stanley Jonathan Ringgit, the bodies (both the man and his dog) were found by his niece at around 8.10am today.

The body of the deceased, 70, has been taken to the Sibu hospital for a post mortem.

The case has been classified as sudden death, Stanley said.

“Preliminary investigation revealed that the deceased was a disabled card holder (OKU) and unmarried,” he said.

He added that there was also no element of foul play in the preliminary investigation.

“Our investigation revealed that the deceased was frustrated after finding out that his family members wanted to sell off the house (where his body was found).

“He was worried because he had no other place to stay ,” said Stanley. — DayakDaily
