MIRI, May 31: Two thieves thought they hit the jackpot when they absconded with a bag belonging to an elderly couple in Permyjaya on Wednesday morning.
Prior to the incident, the victims were giving a ride to the suspects — a man and woman — while on their way back to their home in Vista Perdana.
“We dropped them (suspects) off near the Permyjaya area, not knowing that one of our bags which we had placed on the back seat was missing,” said one of victims.
DayakDaily was made to understand that the victim only realised the bag was missing in the afternoon, after he finished washing his car.
He and his wife immediately lodged a police report.
“Fortunately, we only kept cash worth RM5, driving licence and identification card in the bag, while the cash amounting to RM3,000 which we had withdrawn earlier for Gawai, we kept in another bag,” said the victim. — DayakDaily
