E-hailing driver nabbed for allegedly stealing cash

The suspect is being escorted off to the police station for questioning.

MIRI: An e-hailing driver was detained by a cop here on Friday for his alleged involvement in stealing cash amounting to RM210 and a handphone in Taman Tunku on Nov 5.

The suspect, aged 36, was detained around 4pm by a team from the Miri Criminal investigation Department (CID) by a roadside off Desa Pujut 1F.

Also seized was a Perodua Viva and a handphone.


It is believed the suspect had come to the shop around 7.40pm and taken cash money amounting to RM210 and a handphone.

Prior to the incident, the victim, a female aged 26, was about to close the premise’s shutter when she was approached by the suspect.
Miri police chief ACP Lim Meng Seah has confirmed the arrest.
