KUCHING, May 8: Sarawak Legislative Assembly (DUS) Speaker Tan Sri Datuk Amar Mohamad Asfia Awang Nassar has made an announcement regarding the nomination of the chairmen and members for various committees for the 19th DUS by the Standing Order and Select Committee.
Beting Maro assemblyman Razaili Gapor was made the chairman for the Public Accounts Committee.
Members of the Public Accounts Committee included Dato Lo Khere Chiang (Batu Kitang), Mohd Chee Kadir (Kabong), See Chee How (Batu Lintang), Wilson Nyabong Ijang (Pelagus), Miro Simuh (Serembu), and Rolland Duat Jubin (Meluan).
Meanwhile, the House Committee is chaired by Mohammad Asfia himself, and its members include Dato Sri Fatimah Abdullah (Dalat), Dato Sri Dr Stephen Rundi Utom (Kemena), Dato Sri Lee Kim Shin (Senadin), Dato Sri Julaihi Narawi (Sebuyau), Datuk Francis Harden Hollis (Simanggang), and Dato Henry Harry Jinep (Tasik Biru).
Mohamad Asfia also serves as chairman of the Public Petition Committee, which includes Dato Sri Roland Sagah Wee Inn (Tarat), Datuk Dr Jerip Susil (Mambong), Datuk Liwan Lagang (Belaga), Datuk Dr Penguang Manggil (Marudi), Datuk Sebastian Ting Chiew Yew (Piasau), and Datuk Aidel Lariwoo (Sadong Jaya).
In addition, Mohammad Asfia chairs the Committee of Privileges, which includes members such as the three Deputy Premiers of Sarawak: Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas (Bukit Saban), Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan (Bukit Sari), and Datuk Amar Dr Sim Kui Hian (Batu Kawah).
Other members of the committee are Dato Sri Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah (Asajaya), Datuk Sharifah Hasidah Sayeed Aman Ghazali (Samariang), Datuk Dr Malcolm Mussen Lamoh (Batang Ai), and DUS Deputy Speaker Dato Idris Buang (Muara Tuang).
As for the Event Committee, Bekenu assemblywoman Datuk Rosey Yunus was made the chairwoman.
Its members include Datuk Len Talif Salleh (Kuala Rajang), Datuk Dr Abdul Rahman Junaidi (Pantai Damai), Datuk Dr Abdul Rahman Ismail (Bukit Kota), Datuk Dr Annuar Rapa’ee (Nangka), Datuk Snowdan Lawan (Balai Ringin), Datuk Abdullah Saidol (Semop), Datuk Michael Tiang Ming Tee (Pelawan), Datuk Ding Kuong Hiing (Meradong), Christopher Gira Sambang (Tamin), Abdul Yakub Arbi (Balingian), Safiee Ahmad (Daro), Datuk Hamzah Ibrahim (Stakan), Dayang Noorazah Awang Sohor (Lingga), Friday Belik (Krian), and Johnny Pang Leong Ming (Tanjong Batu).
“The committee shall assist the House Committee in the planning, organising, managing, and monitoring of events or matters relating and incidental to the comfort and convenience, amenities, and facilities of the members of the DUS,” Mohamad Asfia stated in his address to the august House today. — DayakDaily
