DUN Speaker presents RM140,000 to mosques and surau

KUCHING, Oct 18: State Legislative Assembly (DUN) Speaker Datuk Amar Mohd Asfia Awang Nassar today presented a total of RM140,000 in contributions to mosques and surau in Serembu, Kedup and Bukit Semuja constituencies.

According to a press release, a total of RM40,000 were distributed to two mosques and four surau in Serembu, while RM20,000 was distributed to two mosques in Kedup, and RM80,000 for five mosques and six surau in Bukit Semuja. Each mosque will received RM10,000, while each surau will receive RM5,000.

“The contribution is to help reduce the burden of mosques and surau, including in developing infrastructure, and ti assist the mosques and surau in carrying out activities during the pandemic,” he said during the handover ceremony held at the DUN complex in Petra Jaya, this morning.


Mohd Asfia also hoped that Sarawakians would continue to support the leadership of the State government for the welfare of the people.

Meanwhile, also present during the handing over ceremony were Serembu assemblyman Miro Simuh.

He also conveyed his gratitude to Mohd Asfia and the Sarawak government for their concerns for the development of mosques and surau in constituencies throughout the State. — DayakDaily.
