KUCHING, April 18: Gawai Bazaar 2024 will be held in conjunction with the Gawai Dayak celebration at Batu Kawah New Township (MJC) for the first time from May 16–26.

According to a report by Sarawak Public Communications Unit (Ukas), deputy chairman of the Gawai Bazaar 2024 Miro Simuh said that the stalls in the bazaar will commence operations from 2pm to 12am.

Miro, who is also Serembu assemblyman, said that there will be 180 stalls in operation, selling food, drinks, as well as handicrafts, providing small entrepreneurs with a platform to grow their businesses.

He also said that throughout the 11 days of the bazaar, there will be a range of engaging side activities as well as events to enhance the lively atmosphere and enrich the overall visitor experience.

“We also have a main stage for various singing and cultural performances that will be performed by local artists,” said Miro when interviewed by Ukas after chairing the Gawai Bazaar working committee meeting at the Greater Kuching Coordinated Development Agency (GKCDA) office yesterday (April 17).
