KUCHING, March 23: Dudong assemblyman Dato Seri Tiong King Sing has called for all Sarawakians to continue nurturing the spirit of unity and mutual respect amongst one another.
According to Sarawak Public Communication Unit (UKAS), Tiong, who is the federal Minister of Tourism, Arts, and Culture, said everyone, regardless of their backgrounds, must continue to support and appreciate one another as unity and respect are the foundations for a strong Sarawak.
“Regardless of our backgrounds, we must continue to support and appreciate one another, especially during meaningful events like this,” he said at a breaking fast programme organised by the Sibu District Police Headquarters (IPD) on March 21.
Speaking on the programme, he said it served as a platform to strengthen goodwill and unity between PDRM personnel and the community.
Meanwhile, Sibu district police chief ACP Zulkipli Suhaili expressed appreciation for the efforts of the organising committee and everyone involved in making the programme a success.
“Gatherings like this help us maintain the spirit of togetherness, especially during the blessed month of Ramadan,” he added.
He also expressed his gratitude to Tiong for taking the time to attend the event and presented Aidilfitri aid. — DayakDaily
