KUCHING, June 18: A male driver escaped with only minor injuries after his car swerved off the road and overturned into a ditch in a self-accident along Jalan Bebangai, Betong, this morning.
According to a statement from the Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba), the Betong fire station received a distress call regarding the incident at 9.17am and immediately dispatched a team to the scene.
Upon arrival, they found that the car had skidded off the shoulder of the road and overturned. The driver, however, was not trapped in the car.
The rescue team provided initial assistance and safely moved the victim to a safer area before emergency medical responders arrived to transport the victim to the Betong Hospital for further treatment.
The victim sustained injuries to his right ear and right shoulder.
After ensuring the accident site was cleared of debris and deemed safe, the team returned to the station. – DayakDaily
