MIRI, Oct 26: Incumbent Miri MP Dr Michael Teo Yu Keng who is also Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) vice president of Sabah and Sarawak purchased two nomination forms yesterday.
Dr Teo, was seen arrived at the Secretariat office of the Election Commission on the 8th floor of the Miri City Council Building in Marina around 3pm.
He purchased two nomination forms.
It is understood the sale of 15th General Election (GE15) nomination forms for the Miri seat was opened starting from yesterday. Teo is the first amongst potential candidates to purchase the form.
Dr Teo has served as the MP for Miri since 2013, and this time he seeks to defend the seat for the third time.
Presently, PKR Miri is intensifying preparations for the election.
Dr Teo disclosed that since there are 40 voting centres and 237 ballot boxes in the Miri federal constituency this time, it is necessary to mobilise more volunteers as polling and counting agents, and he urged more people to join the team. — DayakDaily
