KUCHING, Dec 18: Dato Sri Dr Sim Kui Hian will be serving his second term as the elected assemblyman for N14 Batu Kawah following a convincing victory in the 12th Sarawak State Election (PRN12).
The Election Commission of Malaysia (EC) website said he claimed 7,827 out of 11,150 in total valid votes, defeating Democratic Action Party’s (DAP) Dr Kelvin Yii with a majority of 5,393 votes.
Those not able to retrieve their deposits included Parti Bumi Kenyalang’s (PBK) Chai Kueh Khun and Sarawak People’s Aspiration Party’s (Aspirasi) Fong Pau Teck.
Both Chai and Fong received under a thousand votes with only 756 and 133 votes, respectively. — Dayakdaily
