Adam Yii wins Pujut for GPS with 5,558 votes

MIRI, 18 Dec: Sarawak United Peoples’ Party (SUPP) debutant Adam Yii has won N74 Pujut for Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS).

According to official results from the Election Commission (EC), Yii garnered 5,558 votes to defeat his closest rival Alan Ling of Democratic Action Party (DAP) who received 3,992 votes.

Yii’s three other opponents from Parti Sarawak Bersatu (PBS) Bruce Chai received 1,667 votes, Leslie Ting of Parti Bumi Kenyalang got 1,022 votes and Chin Fen Siong from Aspirasi garnered 152 votes.


Pujut seat was left vacant in 2020 following Dr Ting’s disqualification as its assemblyman in February due to the Federal Court’s decision in Putrajaya over the State Legislative Assembly’s action against him due to his past dual citizenship.

Pujut has been considered a hot seat ever since. — DayakDaily
