KUCHING, April 29: Sarawak’s positive economic performance has attracted investors and businesses, says Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Dr Sim Kui Hian.

“Our State revenue in 2018 was only RM5.8 billion, and last year it reached RM13.3 billion.
“For this year, Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari (Tun Openg) has said that it will be a lot more,” said Dr Sim when officiating at the opening ceremony of Generali Malaysia’s first integrated branch in Kuching here today.
Dr Sim said the Sarawak government’s approach emphasising on economy prosperity, inclusive society and environmental sustainability, is another factor that has introduced the State to the world.
Apart from that, he said, thr Sarawak government also plays its part in addressing climate change through the three pillars outlined under Post-Covid-19 Development Strategy (PCDS) 2030.
“Sarawak has taken steps in transitioning from the usage of coal and fossil fuels to green energy and is at the forefront of green energy production,” he added.
