Dr Sim receives Paul Harris Fellow award for establishing Sarawak Heart Centre, medical contributions to State

KUCHING, Sept 28: Deputy Premier Dato Sri Dr Sim Kui Hian has been awarded the Paul Harris Fellow recognition by the Rotary Club of Kuching on Saturday night (Sept 24).

The award was given in recognition of Dr Sim’s years of service as a medical doctor, perseverance in establishing the Sarawak Heart Centre, and his sacrifices that brought about meaningful, lasting changes to the lives of many Sarawakians.

The event took place during the Rotary Club of Kuching’s 82nd Club President and Board Members Installation Night at Borneo Convention Centre Kuching (BCCK) which was officiated at by Dr Sim and attended by over 250 guests.


New club president Eric Lew, who took over the helm from Garett Sim, recorded his appreciation to past presidents and senior members for their guidance and support throughout his years as a Rotarian.

According to a statement by Rotary Club of Kuching, the ceremony also saw the launching of new club charters including the Interact Club of Tunku Putra HELP and the Rotaract Club of Kuching Omega. — DayakDaily
