KUCHING, Nov 6: An active case detection (ACD) programme is being conducted at Emart Batu Kawa Shopping Mall (Emart Batu Kawa).
Local Government and Housing Minister Dato Sri Dr Sim Kui Hian said this is done for the safety and convenience of employees and business partners of Emart Batu Kawa.
Meanwhile, Dr Sim who is Batu Kawa assemblyman put on record his gratitude to Divisional Health Office Kuching for caring out the ACD operation at a last-minute request.
Dr Sim took opportunity to express his gratitude to community leaders of Batu Kawa who have been helpful in assisting the authorities to trace about 180 people who were related to Emart Batu Kawa cluster.
Emart Batu Kawa Shopping Mall management had issued a statement today saying that the supermarket has closed down as two positive cases had been detected from the collective test results on its employees and tenants.
In a previous statement by the management on Nov 4, it explained that two telco promoters from Wisma Saberkas, who were tested positive for Covid-19, had attended their company’s roadshow held at the shopping mall from Oct 30 to Nov 1.
Following this discovery, Emart Batu Kawa immediately closed for a day for disinfection and sanitisation purposes and all relevant employees and business partners were sent for screening tests.
With that, the management said Emart Batu Kawa Shopping Mall would be closed down until further notice. — DayakDaily
