SAMARAHAN, June 4: All residents of Kampung Empila, which is currently undergoing the Enhanced Movement Control Order (EMCO), are required to undergo Covid-19 swab tests tomorrow (June 5).

An active case detection (ACD) operation will be conducted at the compound of the Kampung Empila mosque from 9am until 7pm.

The State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) has ordered that the village be placed under lockdown from June 4 until 17 after sporadic and unlinked Covid-19 cases were detected in the area.

According to a news report from the Sarawak Public Communications Unit (UKAS), Samarahan District Information Department has today launched ‘Info On Wheels’ initiative to improve Covid-19 awareness among the residents.

The mobile unit also reminded village folks that they are not allowed to go out but to remain at home throughout the EMCO period in order to curb the spread of Covid-19 infections within the community.

Residents have been ordered to observe self-quarantine at home.

Those who fail to comply with these orders can be slapped with a RM5,000 compound under the Act 342 of the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases Act 1988.— DayakDaily
