KUCHING, June 22: The medical personnel at Borneo Convention Centre Kuching (BCCK) Vaccination Centre (PPV) here will soon be administering Sinovac or Pfizer-BioNTech vaccines instead of just focusing on AstraZeneca.
According to State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) advisor Dato Sri Dr Sim Kui Hian, the facilities at BCCK will be fully utilised to accelerate the National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme (PICK).
“To fully optimise the PPV facility at BCCK, starting tomorrow (today), BCCK will help with the PICK program of Sinovac or Pfizer-BioNTech,” he said in a Facebook post last night.
The BCCK PPV was initially used as a special vaccination centre for the AstraZeneca opt-in vaccination programme.
As for the Unimas PPV, Dr Sim said that the centre has managed to get 73,000 registrations and many young people will be able to be vaccinated there.
Meanwhile, Dr Sim who is also Minister for Local Government and Housing said the MySejahtera App will be pushing out appointments for people in Kuching to be vaccinated.
He added that last week in Kuching, many of those aged 50 and above received their vaccinations.
Starting this week, those in their 40s and 30s will be receiving their appointment notifications for vaccination. — DayakDaily
