KUCHING, June 22: The ‘jab first and register later’ approach will be implemented in Kapit now, in view of the surging Covid-19 cases in the district.

State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) advisor Dato Sri Dr Sim Kui Hian said those registered with the MySejahtera app in Kapit had been vaccinated and the health department will start to vaccinate those who have yet to register for vaccination in Kapit through the ‘jab first and register later’ approach.

“Heard that Kapit had vaccinated all those registered with MySejahtera and now were beginning to vaccinate those who are eligible but unregistered.

“Tahniah (congratulations) to the medical frontliners in Kapit for excellent progress not only in Kapit town but went the extra mile travelling through the mountains, the rivers and the jungle of Borneo to get the job done, ” he said in a Facebook post last night.

Meanwhile, Dr Sim observed that Kapit registered the highest number of daily Covid-19 cases in Sarawak yesterday with 121 cases reported.

He noted that there were a cumulative number of 3,312 Covid-19 cases registered in Kapit as of yesterday and 32 deaths reported. — DayakDaily
