Dr Hazland extends help to fire victims in Kampung Tabuan Melayu

KUCHING, April 15: Demak Laut assemblyman Dr Hazland Abang Hipni extended assistance to four families who were affected by a fire which razed their house in Kampung Tabuan Melayu today.

According to a news report published by the Chief Minister’s Department’s Sarawak Public Communications Unit (Ukas) today, the assistance was presented by the N5 Demak Laut constituency service center representative to the victims involved.

“This assistance is for the victims who are currently undergoing their fasting, including their daily necessities.


“In the meantime, we will assess the needs of the victims based on the damages and the assistance needed to repair their house will be implemented as soon as possible,” it said.

Meanwhile, the Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) operation center in a statement today revealed that they received the emergency call regarding the incident at 8.19am.

It said a team of 11 firefighters from Tabuan Jaya fire station led by Iskandar Apet were rushed to the location.

The statement noted that one house was 80 per cent destroyed during the incident, while two other nearby houses were 10 per cent damaged by the flames, which also destroyed two motorcycles.

It added that firefighters managed to bring the blaze under control at 8.46am and the operation ended at 9.20am. — DayakDaily
