KUALA LUMPUR, March 19: The Dewan Negara sitting has been moved forward by two weeks, possibly hinting that Parliament may be dissolved early, reports The Star on its online portal.

The sitting will now start on March 26 and end on April 5.

Originally, the Dewan Negara was scheduled to sit from April 16 to 30, but Parliament sources told The Star, it is understood that the Senate will begin its sitting concurrently with the Dewan Rakyat.

The sources also said the proposal would enable both Houses to pass the Supplementary Supply (2017) Bill 2018 and other Bills as well as give Senators the opportunity to take part in the proceedings before Parliament is dissolved.
