KUCHING, Nov 17: Deputy Minister for Urban Planning, Land Administration and Environment Datuk Len Talif Salleh has pledged to have Tegas Lodge Sarawak (TLS) ready within three years, targeting completion by 2028.

He described the Lodge, which will be constructed next to the existing Tegas Digital Village, as a one-stop centre for global digital nomads.

“You can stay, eat, sleep, exercise, even wash your clothes — all in one place,” he said when speaking at the closing ceremony of #MenaSikTok 2025 youth cyber safety programme held at Tegas Digital Village yesterday.

He added the facility will also enable local youths to interact with digital nomads from abroad, expanding their understanding of the digital world.

“The TLS will be completed by 2027 or 2028. Give myself three years to complete this, insyaAllah,” he asserted.

Len Talif, who is also chairman of Tabung Ekonomi Gagasan Anak Sarawak (TEGAS), further said the upcoming TLS will provide young Sarawakians with greater exposure to the digital economy and opportunities to develop startups.

Meanwhile, the #MenaSikTok 2025 programme, co-organised by Youth Empowerment Society Stapok (YESS) Sarawak and Azam Sarawak, drew more than 150 participants, supported by over 100 volunteers from YESS Sarawak, Azam Sarawak, Azam Young Souls (AYS) and Progresif Pertiwi.

The programme featured 10 interactive simulation stations illustrating real scam scenarios such as job scams, love scams, phishing, e-commerce fraud and money mule operations. These stations were designed to simplify scam tactics and help participants recognise and respond to digital threats through hands-on learning.

The event, led by Project Manager Melvin Jangga with support from Impact Malaysia, also included group discussions and pitching sessions to strengthen digital literacy and build a safer online ecosystem.

Len Talif also announced a RM500 incentive to each of the 10 groups crowned winners during the programme.

Also present were Impact Malaysia assistant vice president of Programs Nurzaidah Azharuddin; Azam Sarawak manager of Strategic Communication, Media and Youth Relations Mohd Hassnal Hakim; Tegas senior manager of Building Facilities Syukri Arabi; and YESS president Melvin Jangga Rupitan. – DayakDaily
