SERIAN, July 22: A seminar on the Greater Kuching Coordinated Development Agency (GKCDA) for Mambong constituency will be held soon to get the wider participation of the people in the area.
In pointing out this, Deputy Minister of Transport Datuk Dr Jerip Susil said the coming seminar is a follow up to the first lab, which he said was almost completed.
“To prepare our people for GKCDA, we will hold another seminar very soon, bringing in several agencies, other component parties from Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) in the area, and also community leaders.
“This is because GKCDA is an important agency to spur development in the area, and we don’t want anybody to be left behind,” Dr Jerip Susil who is Mambong assemblyman stressed when addressing Exco Parti Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) Mambong branch dinner at a local restaurant in Siburan on July 21.
The dinner in conjunction with 60th Sarawak Independence Day was also attended by Puncak Borneo MP Datuk Willie Mongin and Mambong PBB youth chief Wilson Ahon.
Dr Jerip said he is very serious about the participation of the locals towards GKDCA, which has two core business – agriculture and tourism.
For this reason, he said another Willie has been appointed to spearhead the agriculture committee, while former senior government officer James Sinjeng as Mambong GKCDA co-ordinator.
“We must be part and parcel of the success GKDCA, so we we must not just stand and stare, but participate,” Dr Jerip asserted.
He went on to say that the implementation of Bayur New Township in the constituency, which the parcel of been approved has been handed over to GKDCA.
According to him, among the components of the project will be a coffee processing and collection centre, Dayak Bidayuh National Association community hall and stalls for the locals sell agricultural products.
He also urged PBB members in the area to strengthen the party, and at same time help with the overall development of the constituency.
At the function, Dr Jerip, who is also PBB Mambong chief presented 141 new PBB membership cards from various zones. — DayakDaily
