Deputy Minister: Dilapidated schools issue in Sarawak, Sabah top priority in Budget 2023 retabling

KUCHING, Feb 11: Dilapidated schools in Sarawak and Sabah will be a priority during the retabling of Budget 2023 on Feb 24.

According to a news report from Sarawak Public Communication Unit (Ukas) yesterday (Feb 10), Deputy Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Sabah and Sarawak Affairs) Datuk Wilson Ugak Kumbong said the development of schools in Sarawak is also among the matters listed in the project under RM50 million which is fully delegated to the regional government for implementation.

He said this when attending to the SMK Selirik Excellence Students Awards 2022 ceremony in Kapit, on Feb 10.

During the event, Ugak also announced an allocation of RM20,000 to SMK Selirik Teachers and Parents Association (PIBG), RM10,000 for Kapit District Education Office (PPD) and additional RM5,000 for the teachers association. — DayakDaily
