Ken Leben is first Sarawakian to be appointed deputy director-general of Immigration Malaysia

KUCHING, Feb 11: Datu Ken Leben is the first Sarawakian to be appointed the deputy director-general (Control) of Immigration Department Malaysia after serving as the Sarawak director since 2016.

With the promotion effective on Feb 7, the former Sarawak Immigration Department director will assume his role at the Immigration Department Malaysia in Putrajaya.

Ken yesterday (Feb 11) paid a courtesy visit to Premier of Sarawak Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg to inform the latter on his relocation to Putrajaya.

According to a news report on Sarawak Public Communications Unit (Ukas), Ken had informed the Premier during the meeting about the current situation as well as suggestions to improve immigration control in Sarawak.

“I have provided him (Premier of Sarawak) the latest information regarding the immigration control situation in Sarawak, which is satisfactory and manageable so far.

“I also reported to him the latest development on policies implemented at the Federal level and the appropriate policies implemented in Sarawak,” he said when met by some press members.

Immigration Sarawak deputy director Azlan Othman was also present during the meeting. — DayakDaily
