KUCHING, April 16: The Consul General of the People’s Republic of China in Kuching, Xing Weiping, and Deputy Minister of Transport Dato Henry Harry Jinep joined in the fun at the ‘Uplands Cup 2023’ tennis tournament yesterday (April 15).
The tournament, which saw the participation of 42 players, was held at the Malaysian Government Servants Welfare and Sports Council (Maksak) Sarawak court.
Team Jaguar consisting of Emerson John Nain (team captain), Edwin Jambol Radon, Tom Kennedy, Oliver Rengga, Felix Wong, Lau Hui Phan, and Christopher Chan, emerged champions after defeating the Cheetah team.
The Cheetah team comprises Xing Weiping, Joel (team captain), Jawing Nayang, Kenny Lim, Bennedict Set, Dr Les Met, and Alex Tow.
Henry, who is also the tournament’s patron, presented prizes in the form of cash and trophies to the winners. — DayakDaily.
