KUCHING, Feb 18: Kuching North City Commission (DBKU) revealed that a total of 168 Ramadan Bazaar spaces to sell food and drinks in Satok, Semarak, and Sukma Ria will be up for grabs this year.

In revealing this, Deputy Minister of Utility and Telecommunication II Datuk Dr Abdul Rahman Junaidi said interested applicants can apply via Google Form by scanning a QR code on DBKU’s official website from Feb 18 to 23.

“It will be on a ‘first come first serve basis’ and only successful applicants will be notified by DBKU.

“Applicants must provide their contact number and email address so they can be reached to be notified,” he said.

“Successful applicants will need to pay a fee of between RM300 and RM500 for a space to sell either drinks or food at these Ramadan Bazaar locations,” he said at the press conference after officiating at the upgraded Kuching Family Park at Jalan Sultan Tengah today.

Dr Abdul Rahman added that interested applicants must submit and attach their passport-sized photo, a photocopy of their identity cards, food handling certificate, typhoid vaccination certificate and DBKU food handling identification card, and do the same for their assistants.

He also stressed that vendors must not use styrofoam or polystyrene containers to pack their food and to follow strict council regulations at all times.

“Visitors to these Ramadan Bazaars are to park their vehicles accordingly so as not to cause traffic congestion and inconvenience,” he urged.

For more information, those interested can also call the DBKU licensing section at 082-512955.
