DayakDaily bags 2 gold, 2 silver, 1 bronze and Premier Sarawak Award at 35th Kenyalang Journalism Awards

MIRI, Nov 25: DayakDaily was presented with 2 gold, 2 silver and 1 bronze awards as well as the Premier Sarawak Award for English language at the 35th Kenyalang Journalism Awards (KJA) held at Pullman Hotel here last night (Nov 24).

The gold awards were for Journalism Award (Feature and News Feature) contributed by Ashley Sim, Ling Hui and Karen Bong; and Digital Economy Journalism Award by Ashley alone.


The two silver awards were for Sports Reporting Award by Wilfred Syed Pilo and Business & Economic Journalism Award contributed by Karen, Ashley, Nur Ashikin Louis and Wilfred.

Meanwhile, the bronze award was contributed by Ashikin for Sustainability Journalism Award.

Lee presents the Journalism Award to Ashikin on behalf of the DayakDaily team while Federation of Sarawak Journalists Associations (FSJA) president Andy Jong looks on at the 35th Kenyalang Journalism Awards (KJA) in Miri on Nov 24, 2023.

The team’s impressive performance on the write-up for the Journalism Award category with a total of 85 points secured the Premier Sarawak Award.

This year’s KJA which saw a total of 353 entries, offered cash prizes of RM250,000 for grabs.

Sarawak’s Minister of Transport Dato Sri Lee Kim Shin presented the awards at the ceremony. — DayakDaily
