KUCHING, Nov 24: Effective Dec 1, Datuk Amar Mohamad Abu Bakar Marzuki has been re-designated as the Non-Independent and Non-Executive Chairman of Bintulu Port Holdings Berhad.

The announcement, detailed on the Bursa Malaysia website today, signifies a transition from his current directorial position, which he has held since Aug 3.

Aged 59, Mohamad Abu Bakar holds a Master of Science in Human Resource Development from Universiti Putra Malaysia (1999), a Bachelor of Arts degree from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (1987), and is a Senior Executive Fellows Leadership Programme graduate from Harvard University, USA (2017).

In terms of his professional background, Mohamad Abu Bakar is presently Sarawak Secretary from Jan 7, 2022.

He also holds the Deputy State Secretary (Socio-Economic Transformation) position from Jan 1, 2018 until June 30, 2022, including Director of Sarawak Foundation Secretary of Board of Trustee, Sarawak Foundation Treasurer, Bakun Charitable Thrust Fund from 2000 to 20016,

His extensive career includes stints as Deputy Director Sarawak Foundation from 2000 to 2005, Branch Head Sarawak Foundation Kuala Lumpur Branch 1995 to 1999, Secretary for Tunku Abdul Rahman Scholarship Sarawak Foundation from 1995-1999 and Assistant Director (Higher Education) Sarawak Foundation from 1991 to 1995. — DayakDaily
