Dates fixed on Feb 10 to 12 for S4S disrespecting Negaraku trial

S4S members turn up in court today (Nov 11, 2019) to support their seven leaders who are charged for disrespecting the National Anthem.

KUCHING, Nov 11: The Magistrate’s court here has fixed February 10 until 12 for trial for the seven members of Sarawak for Sarawakians (S4S) who are charged for disrespecting the National Anthem.

They have pleaded not guilty before Magistrate Zubaidah Sharkawi on Oct 11 and today has been set for pre-trial case management.


The seven members of S4S have been charged for knowingly showing disrespect towards the national anthem during a political function held at a hotel in Padungan on Sept 27.

They have been charged under Section 8(3) of the National Anthem Act 1968, to be read together with Section 34 of the Penal Code, which carries a fine not exceeding RM100 or imprisonment not exceeding one month, upon conviction.

Five witnesses will be called by prosecution during the trial.
