KUCHING, June 8: Kuching North City Hall (DBKU) ought to make proper announcements whenever there are changes to the starting and closing times of the Darul Hana Musical Fountain’s light shows.

Bandar Kuching MP Dr Kelvin Yii said he had received many complaints about the inconsistencies of the light shows during the week-long festive holidays.

“There were a lot of instances where tourists and visitors gathered to see the shows. They were informed it would start at 8.30pm and 9.30pm but were disappointed when nothing happened after waiting for some time.

“What is even more regretful is that there was no proper announcement by the management, which is DBKU,” he told reporters after a Pakatan Harapan (PH) Sarawak meeting here today.

Dr Yii said it was unfair to both tourists and visitors alike the way thing stands. He said DBKU should give proper announcements, including broadcasting it at the Kuching Waterfront, if there were changes made to the time, if the shows were cancelled or if there were technical glitches.

He also suggested that signages announcing the schedule of the shows be put up at the Waterfront.— DayakDaily
