KUCHING, Dec 7: Democratic Action Party (DAP) candidate for N10 Pending Violet Yong has urged voters to check their voting particulars in advance to confirm their respective polling stations and ease ballot casting on Election Day.

Yong has taken to social media for her campaigning activities due to restrictions in place, especially in urban constituencies, with the launching of a voters information enquiry counter at Kenyalang Park, in front of Lim Medical Clinic opposite the Shell Station, to help voters check and get all necessary polling details including voting stations and streams.

“This morning, there was one voter who used to vote at 4 1/2 Mile, Penrissen but upon checking her voting particulars, she discovered that her name has been changed to Sibuti. So something is very wrong here.

“So it is very important for voters to check their voting details beforehand and ahead of polling day. So we have set up a counter here for the convenience of the public,” she said in a live broadcast on her Facebook page.

Yong, who is a three-term assemblywoman, encouraged the public to make use of the service so that they can avoid all the unnecessary frustration and hassles that may occur at the last minute on polling day.

“Check your voting particulars so that you can save time, instead of having to look around for your voting station as there may high traffic on polling day,” she added.

The booth will be opened daily from 7.30am to 4.30pm.

Yong also called on the people to vote for DAP, which she said had been serving the people genuinely and bringing a strong and bold voice into the Sarawak State Legislative Assembly (Sarawak DUN). — DayakDaily
