KUCHING, April 9: Democratic Action Party (DAP) Stampin branch will be setting up a Covid-19 vaccination registration booth at the 7th Mile Old Bazaar to assist members of the public who have yet to register for the vaccine this Sunday (April 11).
Special Assistant to DAP Sarawak chairman Chong Chieng Jen, Micheal Kong in a press statement today said as of April 7, 2021, only 32.5 per cent of the entire population of Sarawak has registered for the vaccine.
“As such, the DAP Stampin Parliamentary Team will be setting up a Covid-19 vaccination registration booth at Fresh Food Court at the 7th Mile Old Bazaar this coming Sunday (April 11), from 7.30am. to 9.30am.
“So head on down to Fresh Food Court this Sunday, register for the Covid-19 vaccine and thereafter try their famous Teh C Peng Special,” he enthused.
Kong noted with Sarawak consistently being among the top two in the country with the highest number of daily cases reported for the past seven days, more effort should be put into raising awareness among the public on the Covid-19 vaccination drive by the Special Committee on Covid-19 Vaccine Supply Access Guarantee (JKJAV).
“In this fight against Covid-19, we have to try to obtain herd immunity. To achieve herd immunity against Covid-19, a substantial proportion of a population would need to be vaccinated, thus lowering the overall amount of virus able to spread in the whole population,” he added. — DayakDaily
