KUCHING, April 15: Sarawak Democratic Action Party (DAP) has introduced a dialysis assistance fund programme worth RM1,500 for kidney patients in Bandar Kuching and Stampin parliamentary constituencies.
Its chairman Chong Chieng Jen said the programme is aimed at helping dialysis patients to ease their financial burden of the incurred dialysis treatment cost.
“For the qualifying conditions, the applicant has to be a dialysis patient with a household income of less than RM5,000 and receiving dialysis treatment from either non-governmental organisation (NGO) or private facilities.
“The applicant must also be a resident of Bandar Kuching or Stampin parliamentary constituency,” he said during a press conference held at DAP Headquarters in Kuching today.
Chong who is also Stampin MP and Padungan assemblyman further said that the programme has targeted 100 applicants from Bandar Kuching and Stampin constituencies this year.
He said eligible applicants can come forward to DAP headquarters in Kuching or any DAP service centre to apply.
The five important documents to bring along for the application process are one’s identity card (MyKad), medical record, a verification letter from the dialysis centre or any proof that the applicant is receiving treatment at the centre, and the relevant documents to prove the applicant’s income and bank statement.
