KUCHING, Dec 13: Democratic Action Party (DAP) candidate for N13 Batu Kitang constituency Abdul Aziz Isa assured voters in Batu Kitang constituency that he will remain with Democratic Action Party (DAP) if elected as their representative in the coming 12th Sarawak Election.

According to Aziz, under the newly launched manifesto for N13 Batu Kitang constituency dubbed as ‘Rukun 13’, the first ‘Rukun’ also aims to introduce the Anti-Hopping law for Sarawak, including 100 per cent attendance throughout Sarawak Legislative Assembly (DUN) sitting, and setting up an election system to choose local community leaders.

“We want to give the guarantee to the voters that if I am elected, I will remain principled and serve with integrity with DAP.

“There is no issue of party hopping, as we are focused on serving the community,” he told reporters during a press conference held at DAP headquarters in 4th Mile, today.

Aziz noted in the event that he is elected as the representative for Batu Kitang, the ‘Rukun 13’ will be implemented, even though DAP is not able to form the government.

“If we form the government, that would be a bonus,” he added.

Among others, under the ‘Rukun 13’ manifesto, Aziz also pledges to empower community services programmes, developing human capital and sports, providing sustainable education and curriculum, expending digital village concept, reducing crime rates and disaster risk, as well as defending the ‘Bangsa Sarawak’ identity.

Abdul Aziz is facing a four-cornered fight against Lo Khere Chiang from Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS), Liu Thian Leong from Parti Sarawak Bersatu (PSB) and Wong Tun Teck from Parti Bumi Kenyalang (PBK). — DayakDaily
