KUCHING, Dec 23: A 15-year-old boy in Kuching was snatched by a crocodile when fishing near Lorong Cahaya 4E in Bandar Baru Samariang today.
According to a report from the Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) operations centre, they received a call from the victim’s friend regarding the incident at 4.27pm and deployed Bomba Petra Jaya to the location.
The operations commander reported that based on initial information from the victim’s friend who witnessed the incident, all four of them were fishing in Sungai Samariang Aman.
All of them went down into the river when their fishing net was stuck, and the victim, who was in front of the others, was snatched by a crocodile and dragged upstream.
Following that, a search and rescue (SAR) operation was launched and continues at the time of writing. — DayakDaily
