Covid-19: Three new clusters in Malaysia

KUCHING, July 24: Malaysia recorded three new Covid-19 clusters today, namely Elsa cluster, PUI Ramnad cluster and PUI Al Khobar cluster.

In a statement on the Covid-19 updates in the Ministry of Health’s website, director-general Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said that five out of 21 new positive cases were from the three new clusters.


Three of the new Covid-19 cases are from the Elsa cluster, two from PUI Ramnad cluster and another one from PUI Al Khobar cluster.

Dr Noor Hisham also noted the three new clusters were from import cases.

Patients from Elsa cluster are flight crews from the Philippines while PUI Ramnad cluster comprised Malaysians returning from India and another local citizen returning from Saudi Arabia in the Al Khobar cluster.

Other active clusters that recorded new Covid-19 cases today are the Sentosa cluster and Kluang senior citizens cluster with eight and two cases respectively.

There are a total of 24 active clusters in Malaysia as of today, added Dr Noor Hisham. —DayakDaily
